Joseph S. Kim
Co-Founder
Joseph is a senior at Phillips Exeter Academy in Exeter, New Hampshire. As a student with learning differences and the sibling of a student with learning differences, Joseph is deeply committed to promoting social awareness, understanding, and acceptance of neurodiversity. Drawing from both personal experience and family perspective, he advocates for educational equity and works to empower students with learning differences to overcome challenges and reach their full potential.
Sean W. Kim
Co-Founder
Sean is a freshman student at University of Southern California. As a student with learning differences, Sean has faced many challenges due to others not understanding these differences and wants to change such social bias. His motto is "There is no failure, only a lesson."
Changwoo Woo
Korea Branch Chair
Changwoo is a student at Daegu Dong Junior High School in South Korea. Diagnosed with ADHD along with his younger brother and sister, he advocates for understanding and acceptance of students with learning differences, believing that every student has unique abilities beyond grades.
Ian Park
Global Music Ambassador
Ian is a senior in high school and an active pianist. Through volunteering at international music competitions and serving as a teaching assistant at music festivals, he has worked closely with students with autism, ADHD, and physical disabilities. He believes music can transform differences into strengths and create a stage where every student shines.
Susan Bentley
Advisor
Mrs. Susan Bentley, with over 20 years in education, excels in fostering student success and advocating for diverse learning needs. Her roles include Director of Learning Services at Foxcroft, Academic Support Coordinator at Trinity Prep, and Director of Academic Support at Episcopal Community. With an M.A.T. from Jacksonville University and a B.A. from Georgia Southern University, she brings invaluable expertise to AFU.
Jack Choi
Advisor
Mr. Choi, CEO of a private equity fund, volunteers as an advisor to Advocacy for AFU. A career banker who founded a community bank, Mr. Choi has been a dedicated supporter of Southern California's Korean American business community. He brings extensive experience in business and community service to his role at AFU.
